How to paint your ceramics

At Paint ‘n’ Bake Ceramics Café, it’s easy to paint your ceramics, and we’re always there to help you.

1. Choose it. We have an extensive display to select your item from.

2. Design it.  Dream up your design or browse through our books and magazines to find an inspirational idea. 

3. Draw it.  Draw or trace your design in pencil. This will burn off later in the firing process.  Don’t worry, if you make a mistake, just erase it!

4. Paint it. Choose from the 25 non toxic colours of under-glaze and paint inside the pencil lines.  To get a solid colour finish, paint three coats of under-glaze.

5. Leave it. Leave it with us, and we’ll glaze it and fire it for you in the kiln on our premises.

6. Pick it up.  Come back in 3 – 5 days and collect your masterpiece.  Your ceramics creation will be food safe, and can be used in dishwashers and microwaves.
